When allan Marling claims to have created an unbreakable ceramic, One-Ten tells Steed to see if such a thing realy exists. Knowing Cathy is writing a book on China, Steed sends her to the Marling factory. She is being shown round the factory by Allan's brother, Richard, when the body of a man, Lander, is found dead in a slip tank of clay.
