After dinner with Cathy at a Chinese restaurant, Steed deliberately gets the cloakroom attendant to hand him the wrong coat, When they reach Steed's flat he searches the coat pockets and finds a cheque for £2000 made out to Mr Jason and drawn against a chinese bank. Steed decides to wait and see who collects it. Meanwhile at the restaurant, an elderly Chinese gentleman, Mr Lo, tells the owner, Mrs Kwan, to prepare for the arrival of three guests, one of whom is Mr Jason.
